Overview

We recommend using an iPad or Android tablet for running the Heybegin Kiosk app. Alternatively, you can use any computer with a browser.

Basics

Recommended tablets

The recommended hardware requirements for tablets:

  • Screen size: minimum 10**″** (inches)

  • Resolution: minimum 1024x768

  • Operating system: iPadOS 14 or Android 7.0 and later

To check if your current tablet meets these requirements, visit the hardware database GSMArena. Enter the brand name and click on the "Show" button. Look for your device in the list and select it. Verify if the details match the specifications mentioned above. We suggest purchasing the most affordable iPad or Android device that meets our requirements. The simplest option is to buy it from your telecom provider or any other electronics shop.

Recommended computer

A modern computer with an updated version of Windows, macOS, or Linux and browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari are supported.

Installation

Install the tablet in a location that is easily accessible to all employees. Make sure the tablet is always connected to an electricity outlet and that the sleep mode is turned off. For the best user experience, it is suggested to use landscape orientation. The goal is to provide effortless access without any extra effort. If you need additional installation tips or wall mount accessories, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Single app mode

We recommend locking the tablet to a single app mode. The single usable app should be Heybegin Kiosk. This ensures employees can always clock in and out without any sudden blockers. To activate single app mode on Apple devices, you need to set up Guided Access. To activate single app mode on Android devices, you need to search for your device's brand name, model, and kiosk mode on Google. For example, if you have a Samsung TAB9, you would search for "Samsung TAB9 kiosk mode" on Google. You should easily find a guide that explains how to set up Kiosk mode on your Android device.
